THE SHAPE OF MEMORY

CRITICAL ANIMALS AS PART OF THIS IS NOT ART

29 SEPTEMBER - 22 OCTOBER 2017

"Perhaps it’s that you can’t go back in time, but you can return to the scenes of a love, of a crime, of happiness, and of a fatal decision; the places are what remain, are what you can possess, are what is immortal. They become the tangible landscape of memory, the places that made you, and in some way you too become them. They are what you can possess and in the end what possesses you.”

 - Rebecca Solnit

The return to these internal and external spaces or places is what helps us learn, grow and change. It helps us understand a certain part of where we were and where we may be going. THE SHAPE OF MEMORY is a multimedia group exhibition that will examine notions of physical and psychological space, questioning how and why these structures of or into a space can reflect our past, our present and what our future may be.

Featuring artists Zainab Hikmet, Consuelo Cavaniglia, Elise Harmsen, Mohini Chandra, Dean Cross, Annelies Jahn and Gabriella Mangano and Silvana Mangano.
