Seven times over seven days (Time, distance, you and me), 2016

For seven days I went outside at 4.12pm and photographed a portion of my backyard, rather than create seven individual images I exposed the negative multiple times. It was an attempt to capture what cannot be captured - the passing of time, the acknowledgement that this was the same backyard but it also was not. Each time I took a photograph I was taking a photo of a moment and with each click I would never be able to recapture that same moment that I had originally photographed on Monday or the day after that or the day after that. The image becomes multiple moments in time, fragments of a full seven day week spent in my backyard thinking about the breeze, home, distance, the things I have to do, the noisy neighbours, me and of course you.
